Kerala to host Global Investment Meet next year: Minister Rajeeve
Country’s first International GenAI Conclave concludes

Kochi, July 12: Buoyed by the phenomenal response to India’s first International Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) Conclave, Kerala will host a two-day Global Investors Meet to promote investments from companies in the AI sector next year, Minister for Industries, Law and Coir Shri P Rajeeve announced here today.
While speaking at the valedictory function of the two-day conclave in the city, Shri Rajeeve revealed a raft of ambitious plans of the Industries Department to ramp up the ecosystem in Kerala by attracting investment. The July 11-12 conclave was organized by Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) in association with IBM.
The Global Investors Meet has been planned in Kochi on January 14 and 15, 2025.
Shri Rajeev said the state government will also conduct International Roundtable series focusing on 12 sectors. The first in the series on robotics will be held on August 24 in Kochi. Investors, researchers and startups will feature in the International Robotics Roundtable.
“A meet on Bio-Connect will be conducted in Life Sciences Parks by September-end in Thiruvananthapuram. Through Bio-Connect, the government is expecting around Rs 500 crore investment,” the minister said.
Roadshows will be conducted in Chennai (August 9), Mumbai and New Delhi, besides two such events in the Gulf countries to tap investments from NRIs.
An interactive meeting for 200 entrepreneurs, who had invested over Rs 5 crore each (Rs 10,000 crore in total) in two or three years for their enterprises in the state, will be conducted on July 29, aiming to help them scale up their ventures.
Shri Rajeeve informed that a meet on existing MNCs and those who wish to set up ventures in Kerala has been planned on August 5.
“A new land development policy of KSIDC will be released this month. In August, policies related to AI, export, logistics and hi-tech manufacturing sectors will also be released,” he revealed.
Shri A. P. M. Mohammed Hanish, Principal Secretary, (Industries), and Shri Dinesh Nirmal, Senior Vice President, IBM, were also present at the valedictory function.At the concluding ceremony, the winners of the prestigious ‘IBM watsnonx Challenge’ hackathon, which was held in the run-up to the conclave, were announced. Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kottayam, emerged the first prize winner in the educational institutions category.
Sahrdaya College of Engineering Technology, Thrissur came second while NSS College of Engineering, Palakkad bagged the third prize.
In the startup category, AiWhiz Solutions was adjudged the winners.
