RGCB invites applications for M.Sc and Ph.D Biotechnology Programme

Thiruvananthapuram, June 11: Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB), an autonomous institution of the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, has invited applications from GAT-B qualified candidates to join its M.Sc Biotechnology programme 2024-26.
The RGCB has also invited applications for admission to the PhD programme (August 2024 session) in various domains of disease biology, neurobiology, bioinformatics and plant science.
The M.Sc Biotechnology course offers specialisations in two disciplines -- Disease Biology and Genetic Engineering. The course will be spanned over two years in four semesters. A total of 20 seats are available with ten students per specialisation.
Students admitted to the course will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 6000 in the first year and Rs. 8000 in the second year. Hostel accommodation is available on the RGCB campus.
The final selection of the students will be made based on the GAT-B cut-off rank/score fixed by the RGCB for each category.
The counselling process will start in the first week of July, and classes will begin on August 01, 2024.
RGCB invites applications for admission to the PhD program (August 2024 session) in various domains of disease biology, neurobiology, bioinformatics and plant science.
PhD programme
Candidates with a postgraduate degree in Life/Agricultural/Environmental/Veterinary/ Pharmaceutical/ Medical Sciences or allied subjects with a minimum of 60 per cent marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in the UGC 10-point scale and a valid JRF (UGC/ CSIR/ ICMR/ DBT/ DST-INSPIRE or any other nationally competitive fellowship) for a period of five years offered by the government can apply for the PhD programme.
The upper age limit is 26 years as of the application deadline. The age limit will be relaxed for SC/ST/ and the people with disabilities candidates.
The last date for submitting online applications for both programmes is June 26.
