Kochi, May 31Metanoa, a cloud-based healthcare firm and KSUM-backed startup, became the first in the developmental disorder space to achieve Dubai Health Authority’s (DHA) NABIDH integration. This milestone marks a significant achievement in their specialization in solutions for Autism, Learning Disabilities, Speech Delays, ADHD, and other developmental disorders.

Metanoa is a software platform dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals living with developmental disorders. The product by the firm, backed by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), is gaining increasing acceptance globally, as millions of children suffer from various developmental challenges. NABIDH is DHA’s health information exchange platform that connects public and private healthcare facilities in the emirate to securely exchange electronic health records and other health information.

With Metanoa striving to make a significant impact on their lives, a large percentage of these children can be transformed if the disorders are detected at an early age and effective therapy is administered, according to the 2019-founded startup, which has an office in Dubai as well. Through NABIDH, the DHA aims to enhance the quality of healthcare services provided to its citizens and residents of Dubai, seeking to ensure the seamless and secure exchange of patient health information and electronic medical records across verticals in healthcare.

As the healthcare sector faces challenges due to limited doctors and therapists, long wait times ensue for appointments and therapies, notes Metanoa CEO Vibin Varghese. “Our web application for clinics streamlines tasks and allows therapists to focus more on patient care,” he reveals. “Features such as integrated screening tools, automated reports, and AI-based recommendations speed up therapy, benefiting patients with various disorders.”

For clinics, this platform translates into improved operational efficiencies, reduced administrative burdens and cost savings. Therapists can manage appointments more effectively, leading to better patient outcomes and increased satisfaction. The web-app also facilitates data management, ensuring secure and organised patient information, which is crucial for providing quality therapy.

For Metanoa, its long-term vision is to reach as many children as possible and provide them with the support they need to thrive, says Varghese. “Achieving NABIDH certification is a testament to our dedication to excellence and our commitment to integrating the highest standards of healthcare data exchange,” he adds.

Further, Metanoa has announced online therapy services. “By partnering with clinics that have integrated Metanoa's software platform, we aim to make specialised therapies more accessible to children and their families,” says Varghese. “This initiative will ensure that children receive timely and effective treatment, regardless of their geographical location.”
