Record collection, as Cyberpark employees respond warmly to blood donation

Calicut / May 3, 2024

Kozhikode, May 3: A blood donation camp at Kozhikode Cyberpark evoked warm response from the employees at the IT companies, earning a record procurement of 121 bags — the highest in the past six years.

Held at the Department of Transfusion Medicine and Cellular Therapy under the MVR Cancer Research Centre in the city, the camp was organized in association with Calicut Forum for IT and Zennode Technologies, besides the voluntary organization Hope.

“We got excellent response,” said Dr Nittin Henry, senior consultant at the Department of Transfusion Medicine and Cellular Therapy. “The number of blood bags we could fill this time is higher than any of such camps we conducted in six years.”

Given the encouraging response, Cyberpark can conduct regular blood donation camps, considering that its employees are predominantly young. “This camp was held at a time when there is a general slide in blood donations, also owing to factors such as climate change,” Dr Henry noted. “Our special thanks to Cyberpark.”

Cyberpark General Manager Vivek Nair, while hailing the warm response of the IT employees to the blood donation camp, said that the proposal to hold such endeavours in regular intervals will be considered.
