Youth Meets Haritha Karmasena , Malinya Muktham Navakeralam Campaign providing an opportunity to the youth to know HKS better

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 16: The Suchitwa Mission is organising this Sunday a programme to generate awareness about the efforts of the Haritha Karma Sena (HKS) to promote public cleanliness. The ‘Youth Meets Haritha Karma Sena’ on February 18 will see 100 young representatives participating from n each of the state’s 14 districts.

The programme aims at emphasising the role of exemplary waste-disposal systems for sustainable lifestyles. It also seeks to strengthen the public support for the HKS, besides facilitate submission of proposals and, overall, improve youth participating in the government’s Navakeralam Karma Padhathi that works to create new development perspectives and prospective planning.

As 100 youth representatives and 25 HKS volunteers are conceived to participate from each district. Sunday’s event expects an overall involvement of 1,400 youngsters and 350 HKS volunteers.

Organisers plan to bring in better exchange of ideas on HKS’s routine activities, alongside the problems, challenges and social issues facing the Sena. The programme seeks to solve issues related to the user fee and telling the youngsters about the crucial role of HKS in waste management. It will hold sessions of sorting waste and telecast them live. Music programmes and flash mobs will be organised for the public to know more about the HKS’s activities.

Suchitwa Mission believes that programmes such as ‘Youth Meets HKS’ will strengthen the Sena’s brand value as well as inviting more youngsters to join the sustainable waste-disposal methods.
