Film fest for techies concludes at Technopark

Filmmaker TK Rajeev Kumar gives away awards to winners of short film contest

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan. 23: The 12th edition of Prathidhwani Qisa Film Festival (PQFF 2023), featuring a short film competition for IT professionals and a host of cultural programmes, concluded at Technopark here.

PQFF 2023 was organized by Prathidhwani, the welfare organization of IT employees at Technopark.

Filmmaker Shri TK Rajeev Kumar gave away awards to the winners of short film competition held as part of the film festival. The event also featured a host of cultural programmes including shadow puppetry, film quiz and music programmes, besides film screenings from January 8 to 19. 

As many as 23 short films created by IT employees from Kerala and outside vied for prizes in the competition held on January 20.

Qisa festival mentor, author and film activist Shri MF Thomas; Kerala Vision Chief Operating Officer Shri Padmakumar N, Prathidhwani Film Club Convenor Shri Ashwin MC, Festival Director Shri Garlin Vincent, and Festival Convenor Shri Rohit K were also present at the award ceremony. 

Actor Sajitha Madathil was the Jury Chairperson for the short film contest while directors Fazil Razak and Shinos Rahman were the Jury Members.

Best Short Film: ‘Kaanaavalayam,’ Best Director: Arundev from SurveySparrow for ‘Kaanaavalayam’, Second Best Short Film: ‘Scotch Whiskey,’ directed by Ramesh Sukumaran (TATA Elxsi), Best Script: Praveen Kumar (TATA Elxsi) for ‘Scotch Whiskey, Best Actor (Female): Adithya Reghu for ‘Vasumathi,’ directed by Rahul Reghuvaran (Allianz), Best Actor (Male): Premjith for ‘Scotch Whiskey,’ directed by Ramesh Sukumaran (TATA Elxsi), Best Director of Photography: Ramshi K for ‘The Cycle,’ directed by Amit Venugopal (Envestnet), and Best Editor: Achuth Giri for ‘Veendum Oru Adhyarathri,’ helmed by Pradeep Joseph (UST Global),

Pradeep Joseph (UST) won the Special Jury Award for his performance in ‘Blockbuster Days.’ Films ‘My Story,’ directed by Dhanya Parvathy (Alight Solutions), and ‘Sneha Vannu,’ directed by Sandeep Chandran (UST Global) won the Special Jury Awards. ‘Sneha Vannu’ also bagged the Viewer's Choice Award.
