Public entry to Milma Pathanamthitta Dairy on Nov 26, 27

Pathanamthitta, Nov. 16: The Pathanamthitta dairy of Milma will be open to the public on November 26 and 27 as part of the National Milk Day celebrations. The unit at Nariyapuram will permit visitors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days, while also organising dairying-related classes and exhibition stalls.

The public will get an opportunity to see and learn first-hand about the Milma unit’s daily activities that include the production of milk, curd, jackfruit peda, curd in cups, buttermilk and paneer. The Pathanamthitta dairy is the first among Milma’s units to get ISO 22000-2018 certification for following stringent food safety specifications.

On both days, the visitors will also get Milma’s ghee, butter, paneer, peda, ice-creams, gulab jamun mix, palada mix, chocolates, sip-up, milk lolly, mango juice, rusk, flavoured milk and cup-cakes at discount rates.

There will also be a painting competition and quiz contest for school students. To be held at the conference hall of Milma, the painting competition (for upper primary students) will be on November 21 at 11 a.m., while the quiz contest (for high school students) will be on November 22 at 2 p.m. The prizes for winners will be distributed on November 27, according to Pathanamthitta dairy Senior Manager Dr R.K. Samuel.

National Milk Day, which falls on November 26, is held in memory of Dr Verghese Kurien, the father of the White Revolution in the country.
