Waste-free campaign seeks support of film industry
Role of cinema in building awareness stressed

Kochi, Oct 05: The ‘Malinya Muktham Nava Keralam’ campaign has sought the support of the Malayalam film industry in stepping up awareness about the ongoing waste management programme and inculcating proper waste disposal habits among the public.
At a meeting jointly convened by the Local Self Government Department (LSGD) and the Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) here, District Coordinator of Suchitwa Mission Shri K K Manoj said the possibilities of bringing film industry on board for the success of the campaign should be explored.
Noting that society should benefit from art, Shri Manoj sought the cooperation of the KFCC to take forward the campaign effectively.
It was also emphasized that the film industry and movie houses have to embrace green protocol by proper coordination with the respective Local Self Government Institutions (LSGIs).
KFCC President Shri Jacob B R; General Secretary Shri Saji Nanthiyattu; Treasurer Shri M A George; Joint Secretary Shri Mummy Century; former President Shri T Suresh Kumar; representatives of film distributors and producer associations; and District Suchitwa Mission Assistant Coordinator Ms Liji K J were also present.
Through the intensive campaign, the government aims at making the state’s LSGIs garbage-free by 2024.
