TRCMPU of Milma tops in milk sale on Uthradom day

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 31: Thiruvananthapuram Regional Cooperative Milk Producers Union (TRCMPU) of Milma has registered an all-time record in the sale of milk on Uthradom day, compared to other regional unions.  

On the Uthradom day (August 28) alone, TRCMPU sold 15,50,630 litres of milk and 2,40,562 Kg of curd, marking an increase of 21 per cent and 26 per cent respectively compared to last year.

Besides, in August alone TRCMPU’s turnover stands at Rs 126 crore through the sale of 320 metric tonnes of ghee and other dairy products. This is 20 per cent higher than the turnover achieved during this period last year.  

TRCMPU covers Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha and Pathanamthitta districts. 

TRCMPU Administrative Committee Convener Shri N Bhasurangan attributed the achievement of the regional union to the collective efforts and co-operation of dairy farmers, Milma employees, sales networks, supply chain operators including the crew of vehicles, and above all the consumers of Milma.

TRCMPU Managing Director Shri D S Konda said TRCMPU Administrative Committee Convener’s vast experience in dairy sector, encouragement and the collective effort under his leadership have helped the Union script history. 

Shri Konda informed that the Union distributed a total of Rs 2.3 crore as incentive during Onam, with the farmers getting Rs two per litre of milk and 50 paisa per litre for milk cooperatives. 

“TRCMPU also disbursed Rs 1,500 for permanent employees and Rs 1,000 for temporary workers of the APCOS Societies as Onam gift. It is the sole regional union in the state that disburses such an Onam gift to employees,” he noted.
