TRCMPU of Milma posts record sales on Onam days

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 30: Thiruvananthapuram Regional Cooperative Milk Producers Union (TRCMPU) of Milma has clinched an all-time record in sale of milk, curd and other dairy products during the Onam days.

On the Uthradom day (August 28) alone, the sale of Milma milk in four southern districts—Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha and Pathanamthitta—crossed 15,50,630 litres and curd 2,40,562 Kg, marking an increase of 21 per cent and 26 per cent respectively.

“TRCMPU has been able to set an all-time record in sale of milk and curd during this Onam season,” TRCMPU Administrative Committee Convener Shri N Bhasurangan and Managing Director Shri D S Konda said.

Considering the additional demand for milk and curd during the Onam days, TRCMPU has made advance plans to meet the entire demand of the southern districts.

Shri Bhasurangan said TRCMPU also topped in the sale of ghee with 320 metric tonnes being sold during Onam.  

During these days, Milma’s own stalls in all places and agency outlets in key centres remained open from 5 am to 12 am.

“This record performance is the result of collective efforts. This achievement has been made possible by the co-operation of dairy farmers, Milma employees, sales networks, supply chain operators including the crew of vehicles, and above all the consumers of Milma”, Shri Bhasurangan and Shri Konda said.
