Waste-free campaign: Minister Rajesh to interact with cross section of society in city

Thiruvananthapuram, July 26: As part of the transparent and inclusive conduct of the second and third phases of ‘Malinya Muktham Nava Keralam’ campaign, Minister for Local Self Government and Excise Shri M B Rajesh will interact with representatives of various organisations on July 27.

The meetings are planned to ensure greater public participation in the ongoing waste-free campaign by the Local Self Government Department (LSGD). Spread over three sessions, the meetings will be held at Hotel Apollo Dimora, Thampanoor, here at 10 am.

The Minister will brief the participants on the salient features of the campaign and also elicit their views on it.

In the first session, scheduled from 10 am to 12 noon, Shri Rajesh will deliberate on various issues with representatives of private institutions, industries and commercial establishments. It will be followed by discussions with representatives of women and youth organisations, media, art, library council and science field. 

The Minister will also interact with leaders of labour and service organisations from 4.30 pm to 6 pm.

The ‘Malinya Muktham Nava Keralam’ drive aims to make the state garbage-free by March next year.
