Minister Chinchu Rani to launch Milma’s Bypass Fat supplement for cows

Ksheeravardhini to offset energy deficiency during late pregnancy and early lactation stages
Palakkad / January 12, 2022

Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister Smt J Chinchu Rani will launch Milma’s Ksheeravardhini Bypass Fat, an energy supplement for cows in both advanced stage of pregnancy and early stage of lactation, at Milma’s Cattle Feed Plant at Malampuzha on Jan 13 at 11.30 am.

Palakkad MP Shri V.K. Sreekantan will deliver the keynote address at the function to be presided over by Milma Chairman Shri K S Mani. Others present on the occasion will be Shri A. Prabhakaran, MLA, District Panchayat President Smt K. Binumol, Milma Managing Director Dr. Patil Suyog Subhashrao IFS, Ernakulam Regional Co-operative Milk Producers Union Chairman Shri John Theruvath and Thiruvananthapuram Regional Co-operative Milk Producers Union Administrative Committee Convener Shri N. Bhasurangan.

The product is being launched in view of cows generally facing energy deficiency when they need more calories during the advanced pregnancy stage and in the first three months of lactation after delivery, Shri Mani told a press conference here today.

Ksheeravardhini Bypass Fat, which will offset this energy deficiency, will be produced at Milma’s Malampuzha Cattle Feed plant and sold to farmers at a subsidy of 70 per cent against the market price by Malabar Regional Cooperative Milk Producers Union (MRCMPU) as an introductory offer under the farmer support scheme.

The Bypass fat works ideally by feeding 100 grams (one packet) of the product daily from the last ten days of pregnancy and the first three months after delivery to cows that yield more than 15 litres of milk every day. Ksheeravardhini Bypass Fat offers an economical solution to increase energy intake during lactation by skipping rumen microbial digestion and will thus be available for maximum absorption at the small intestine for high milk production.

The product guarantees an increase in the quantity and quality of milk. Also ensures improved conception rates, improved overall health of a cow during crucial periods of transition and lactation, which will enhance the dairy’s bottom line through improved reproduction, as well as milk production.

Milma Managing Director Dr. Patil Suyog Subhashrao IFS, Milma Purchase Manager Shri A Gopakumar, and Malampuzha Cattle Feed Plant, Asst. Manager Dr. S Thiruveni were present at the Press conference.

Other speakers at tomorrow’s event will be Malampuzha Grama Panchayat President Smt Radhika Madhavan, Director Department of Dairy Development Shri V.P. Sureshkumar, CITU President Shri K.P. Prabhakaran, INTUC State Vice President Shri K. Appu and AITUC  District Secretary, Shri N.G. Muraleedharan Nair.
