Young Singers Submitting Themselves to Devarajan Master

Kochi, Sep 28: It was a musical treat in memory of the compositions of the legendary Devarajan Master. 136th edition of the Kochi Biennale Foundation’s weekly ‘Arts and Medicine’ programme today at the Ernakulam General Hospital added more meaning  to the melodies of one among the stalwarts of Malayalam music.

Organised by the Kochi Biennale Foundation in association with Mehboob Memorial Orchestra and Lakeshore Hospital and Research Centre Limited, the programme was led by youthful singers Anu Maria Rose and  SanthoshNjarackal. SebiNayarampalam was the chief guest at the function.

Anu Maria rendered the first song which was a devotional score, “DaivasnehamVarnicheedan..” . This was  followed by a beautiful melody  from the Devarajan-Vayalar team. She also treated the patients and bystanders at the hospital with a few  ghazals and Tamil songs.  Anu Maria a regular singer in TV channel reality shows, has appeared in a few movies also.

Santhosh added another tone to a song by bringing back the memories of Kalabhavan Mani. He also performed presentations including,  KanneKalaimane.., MohamKonduNjan… etc.

Santosh, a singer with Pala Communication Orchestra could lay out a few Hindi songs as well for the audience.
