Kochi, September 26: Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the ninth edition of the largest gathering of tourism stakeholders in the state, Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) on September 27 corresponding to World Tourism Day.
The inaugural ceremony is scheduled to be held at Le Meridien Hotel, Kochi at 5 pm. Hon’ble Tourism Minister Shri A.C. Moideen, Prof K V Thomas, MP, India Tourism Secretary Shri Vinod Zutshi, India Tourism Joint Secretary Shri Suman Billa IAS, Shri Hibi Eden, MLA, Shri M Swaraj MLA, Shri K J Maxy MLA, Shri P T Thomas MLA,Kochi Mayor Shri Sowmini Jain, Maradu Municipal chairperson Shri Divya Anilkumar, KTDC chairman Shri M Vijakumar, Kerala Tourism Principal Secretary Dr Venu V, Kerala Tourism Director Shri U.V. Jose,District Collector Shri K Mohammed Y Safirulla and Kerala Travel Mart Society President Shri Abraham George will participate.
The three-day trade event to be held at the Samudrika and Sagara Convention Centre, Willingdon Island, from September 28 to 30, 2016 will have representation from 57 foreign countries, including 10 first-time participants.
The ninth edition of the biennial event will focus on ‘Responsible Tourism (RT)’ and ‘Muziris and Spice Route’.
The exhibition at KTM will have 265 stalls featuring a range of products, packages and services offered by businesses and entrepreneurs.
The venue will also host a series of seminars and discussion forums led by experts from the sector.
