Neemrana, Rajasthan, May 9: The proposed Kushkheda-Bhiwadi-Neemrana Investment Region (KBNIR) of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor will open up large-scale employment opportunities in the area bringing massive socio-economic benefits to local communities, according to Shri Ramesh Abhishek, Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion.
He was speaking after visiting Neemrana on Sunday for a for a first hand assessment of the proposed KBNIR, during which he held discussions with the officials on the progress of land acquisition and other activities in the region.
The Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (DMICDC Ltd.) is developing eight ‘Smart Cities’ of international standards in its Phase -1 with emphasis on expanding the manufacturing and services base in India.
One of the nodes being developed in Rajasthan is the Khushkhera-Bhiwadi-Neemrana Investment Region.
The Rajasthan Government has already initiated the land acquisition proceedings for the Phase-1 development. DMICDC is also developing a greenfield international airport at Kotkasim, District Alwar; the Airports Authority of India is preparing the Detailed Project Report.
“DMIC project will be a game changer for this region and will provide huge employment opportunities to the local population,” Shri Ramesh Abhishek stated. He added that “Japanese companies are already in existence in huge numbers in this region and with the DMIC there will be additional investments coming in from Japan”.
Shri Alkesh Sharma, CEO and MD, DMICDC informed: “The Model Solar Project at Neemrana is a symbol of Indo-Japan Partnership demonstrating cutting-edge technologies from Japan and will become a role model for other solar projects in the country”.
“DMIC Project in Rajasthan is showing progress and the state has already enacted an enabling Act for this,” he added.
Shri Maneesh Chauhan, Commissioner, DMIC Department, Government of Rajasthan, said, “The land acquisition process for both the Phase -1 development of Khushkhera- Bhiwadi- Neemrana Investment Region and Aerotropolis Project has been initiated by the state government which has recently approved the Rajasthan Special Investment Region Act 2016 that will help in the constitution of the Regional Development Authority.”
Shri Ramesh Abhishek also visited the Model Solar Project commissioned by the DMICDC at the Neemrana Industrial Area in Rajasthan. This 5MW project has been developed with Japanese collaboration and demonstrates thin film technology from Japan.
Shri Alkesh Sharma, Shri Maneesh Chauhan, Shri Ravindra Yadav, Additional Commissioner DMIC, Rajasthan, and Shri Abhishek Chaudhary, Vice President Corporate Affairs, DMICDC, accompanied him on the visit.
