Coir Kerala 2016 concludes tomorrow


Alappuzha, Feb 4: The sixth edition of Coir Kerala, which provided a platform to revitalize coir sector through business deals worth Rs 250 crore and through innovative national and international seminars, will conclude on Friday.  

Kerala Revenue and Coir Minister, Shri Adoor Prakash, will inaugurate the valedictory function of Coir Kerala at 5 pm at the E M S Stadium.

Mr Kodikkunnil Suresh , MP and  MLAs  Shri G. Sudhakaran, Shri P C Vishnunath , Shri P Thilothaman, Shri CK Sadashivan, Shri A M Arif, Shri Thomas Chandy and  Shri R Rajesh will deliver key note address at the function.

Prominent among those who will attend the function include :  Secretary (Coir) Mrs Rani George, Coir Director Shri K N Satheesh,  Alapuzha District Panchayath President Shri G Venugopal, Alapuzha District Collector Shri N Padmakumar, Alapuzha Municipal Chairman Shri Thomas Joseph, Coir Kerala Working Chairmen Shri A A Shukoor and M K Abdul Gafoor Haji, Kerala State Coir Machinery Manufacturing Company Chairman Shri D Sugathan, Coir Labourer’s Welfare Board Chairman Shri A K Rajan,  Coir Corporation Chairman Shri K R Rajendra Prasad, Foam Mattings Ltd Chairman Shri P Narayanan Kutty.     

Minister  Shri  Adoor Prakash will have  an interactive session at 10 am tomorrow with coir workers to understand their problems and to find suitable solutions for the issues faced by them in coir sector.

 Film star and comedian Tini Tom and party will take the center stage following the Closing Ceremony with their Mimics Mega show.

With Coir Kerala 2016 witnessing increased public participation and international attention, there is an air of positivity among coir workers and people associated with the coir sector as the five-day event concludes tomorrow.
