Cultural extravaganza to enthrall crowd at Coir Kerala

Alappuzha, Feb1: Celebrities and cine stars are all set to add colour to this year’s Coir Kerala at Alappuzha, as a number of mesmerizing cultural programs are being organized as part of the five-day event that began in this coastal city today.

Public entry for the cultural events is free on all five evenings.

Expected to attract foreign delegates and public,  noted film personalities like Tini Tom and Asha Sharath will perform at the cultural retreats that are arranged at EMS stadium, the main venue of the February 1-5 Coir Kerala 2016.  The timings are 7pm to 10pm.

IPTA will present a ‘Naatupaatu Padayani’ on Tuesday, blending traditional folk songs blend with engaging beats. ‘Drishyam’ fame Asha Sharath will grace the Wednesday show with classical dance.

The next evening, there will be a ‘Ghazal Sandhya’ by famed musician Umbai and his group, followed by a ‘Mappila Ganamela’ by Seena Ramesh and party.

Popular comedian Tini Tom and his team are to take the crowd on a laughter ride on Friday night with ‘Comedy Festival and Mimics Mega Show’, marking the end of the event.

On the inaugural day today, playback singer Najim Harshad, Sangeetha Prabhu and Party regaled the crowd with a musical evening with memorable songs.
