Kochi Feb 4: More than 2,000 one-to-one business interactions took place on the first day of the Kerala Business-to-Business Meet 2016, being held at the CIAL Trade Fair & Exhibition Centre at Nedumbassery.
Nearly 290 delegates participated in the meet on the inaugural day, said Shri P M Francis, Director, Industries and Commerce. “The Meet has been receiving overwhelming response from the business community both from India and abroad,” he added.
Around 12 business meetings were scheduled for a seller today at the Meet.
The B2B meet has opened up huge foreign business opportunities for the Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the state, said Shri Francis. The business relationships with the foreign partners should grow beyond mere agreements and pacts, he added.
Food processing, marine products, spices, coconut, light engineering, electronics, rubber and furniture manufacturing are some of the industries which have huge potential to flourish in Kerala, Shri Francis noted.
The Meet, being organized by the Department of Industries & Commerce, will conclude on February 6.
As many as 200 SMEs from Kerala and nearly 480 buyers from 21 countries and 18 Indian states are participating in the meet.
