Thrissur, June 20: The Thrissurdistrict Heritage Museum , showcasing the history and cultural legacy and of Kerala's Cultural Capital , will be opened on June 22, after the completion of the second phase of renovation works.
ShriRamachandranKadannappally, Hon'ble Minister of Ports, Museums, Archeology and Archives, will inaugurate the museum ,set up at Kollengode Palace at Chembukkavu, in the city. Shri V S Sunil Kumar, Minister for Agriculture will preside over the inaugural function.
The museum,which was opened to the public in 2016, has completed its second phase of renovation works and creation of additional features, which include a well equipped amphitheatre and a children’s park besides the beautification of the premises.
The museum is a treasure house of rare and precious objects and artifacts that throw light and insight into the rich and diverse history of Thrissur and the adjoining areas, including Mathilakam and the ancient maritime centreMuziris.
Shri. C N Jayadevan, MP, Smt. AjithaJayarajan, Mayor, Thrissur and Smt. Mary Thomas, District Panchayat President will also attend the function.
The concept of the display is conceived and done by Invis Multimedia, a Multimedia Company based in Thiruvananthapuram.
