Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 22: Amrita Civil Service Academy has launched its ‘Future Proof’ initiative, which is aimed at improving communication skills and increasing the chance of success of college students in the UPSC Civil Service examination.
Dr Arun Surendran, Strategic Director, Trinity College of Engineering, inaugurated the first session on Sunday (Aug 20) by lighting the traditional lamp. Dr Surendran, who holds a PhD in aerospace engineering, is currently into start up consultancy. His talk to the future IAS aspirants was studded with anecdotes and laced with insight.
Amrita’s Future Proof lays a unique pathway to global competence. Besides an emphasis on communication and the English language, the initiative also stresses essential topics like geography, history, polity and science and technology. The two-pronged approach would impart both general skills and prepare students for competitive examinations.
The course will be held at the Academy in Cotton Hill, Vazhuthacaud, on Sundays from 10 am–1 pm. Classes will be handled by experts from various fields.
The inaugural function was presided over by Academy Chairman Prof K. Gopalakrishnan. Amrita University Corporate and Industrial Relations Head and Amrita Civil Service Academy Director Br. Bijukumar offered felicitations. Director of Administration S. Jayakumar welcomed the gathering.
